Amazing ideas stem from little seeds

It's so strange to think that my idea for the entire book series I am writing is based on three songs. And not just any songs. The combination of the three might surprise you. Who would have thought Katy Perry's E.T. would trigger the amazing story in my head? Not to mention Undisclosed Desires by Muse. I wonder if anyone could possible think what might be in my head when writing this book that's based on the absurdity of those songs. It's almost unfathomable how much I've created based on those two songs. It was like a little seed they planted in my brain that grew out of control into this big garden of interesting scenes and mysterious places. And then there is A dream within a dream, by Hans Zimmer, who gave me the idea to make my book dark and gloomy. Yes I have much to thank to these awesome musicians. I hope that one day, when I find my book in the shelves of any local bookstore, I may thank these wonderful people for the inspiration they gave me to fulfill my dream of being a published writer.

Addition to my Blog

 Hi everyone!

I haven't been posting alot lately, but that is due to the fact that I have immense homework assignments. I have so little energy left that I barely have the time to even think straight, let alone in English. LOL.

On to the fun part though, I won't be doing an "Uncommon Question" today, rather an "Uncommon Tip".

I have been busy with a different website which allows me to share quick messages, videos, images and more with you. I incorperated that website into this blogspot website, so that you can easily get from here to there.
You can find the link in the menu, which now has a "Home" button and a "Quote's, Random Chat & Tips" button as well. This is where you will find the new website.

Recognition of life in inanimate objects?

In my daily life I often see figures that resemble things that are familiar to me. Like for instance, when you look at trees, you can see those little knots they have on their stems. If you look closely it almost resembles an eye.

Like this one to the left:
It's like this huge gaping eye staring into your soul.
Odd and scary I'd say...but also very fascinating.
You should look around your neighbourhood and find trees like these. You'll be surprised how many there are just like these!

Another thing that always catches my eye are cars. Yes cars. Not because they look great or race with the speed of light, no, it's because they almost seem to have faces. No I'm not kidding.
Have you ever looked at a cars front? If you look at the two headlights and the rest of the front you can almost define an actual face on it.

Just look at this picture to the right for example.
It's almost like a smiley face on a car or a gloating child.
Cars scare me...if you can see the face. It makes me uneasy, because I start thinking they're alive or something... of course they aren't! But yeah...our mind's eye can creep us out.

Another beautiful example of strange recognition in life are clouds. Clouds often hold shapes that we recognize from something in our own lives.
Of course these clouds don't form this shape because they want to. It's just pure coincidence that it looks exactly like something we know.
It's because our brain sees things the way it wants to. Our brain has to give meaning to shapes and forms. That is why we try to recognize every shape there is. Even though the shapes are absolutely normal, it's still fun to look at them.
Look at this one for example:
It's a nice cloud formation....which looks like a child.
Amazing!

Daily life can grant us lots of fun by just looking at things and can inspire us to create.

What is Creativity?

I must say I've never written a blog before, but the idea has never slipped my mind ever since I started writing down peculiar things I come across in life. Why should we not share these strange things with each other? I believe creativity has its origins inside the open mind of the ones who see beyond what is common. And since creativity is the base on which everything in this world is made, I think you realise by now how important these Uncommon Questions can be...

As you can see from the source above, the word “creative” comes from the word “create”. So essentially creativity is there in everything we create. Makes sense right? So you can derive that we are all creative, in our own way. Now isn’t that a wonderful thing to keep in mind?

Creating something is often criticized, whether it is positive or negative. Sometimes you asked for it, sometimes you didn’t. Criticism however, is subject to opinion or rules based on opinions. What is beautiful? What is accepted? What is ugly and what is unacceptable? These are all opinions. It may be the opinion of a large mass, or that of a single individual.
But an opinion is an opinion. It’s one’s personal feeling about something. Personal. That is the word you should keep in mind, next time someone criticizes you. It is your choice to make what you make. It is your choice to have a personal different feeling than the one criticizing you.

All our opinions and feelings matter. You may decide if you do something with it or not. You may decide if you think its worth to change your creation into something the criticizer likes, or if you keep it the way you like. Both are equally important, both are equally worthy.

You see, an opinion about you or your creation has nothing to do with you, it’s about the criticizer. He feels this way. Not you. It’s his opinion, not yours. So you should never feel bad about yourself, because of what someone else thinks or feels.

Everyone in this world likes and hates different things. It’s normal to be different, we are all human. You can’t please everyone.

So don’t ever feel like you don’t have the right to feel, be or create differently.
